Data Protection

The Data Protection Act 1998 came into force on 1 March 2000 , many organisations are still unaware of either what it is, or even if it applies to them. In general the Data Protection Act is designed to regulate and prevent the misuse of personal data held by any organisation. It provides certain rights to individuals about the data that may be held about them and also on the record holders to be open about the use of that information and to follow sound and proper principals.
