National Minimum Wage
Every Worker (this includes all casual, sessional, and part time workers) is entitled to be paid a statutory National Minimum Wage. The Government usually sets new rates for the National Minimum Wage early in the year for implementation as from 1st October.
The current rates as from 1st October 2011 are:
16-17 year olds, £3.68 per hour
18-20 year olds, £4.98 per hour
21 years above, £6.08 per hour
(Note: Adult starting age has reduced from 22 years to 21 years)
Apprentices, £2.60 per hour
The expected rates as from October 2012 have not yet been announced. As soon as these are proposed, we shall list them below:
16-17 year olds, £ per hour
18-20 year olds, £ per hour
21 years above, £ per hour
Apprentices, £ per hour
