Eric Woolsey
I’ve been with CA Plus since 2000. I came to it on the suggestion of another CA Plus Trustee, Cliff Webb M.B.E.
I am a retired secondary school teacher - I taught French and Spanish for 30 years - and was the clerk to Cotgrave Council in the early 80's which got me involved in basic accounting - going through a sort of crash course on wages, tax, national insurance and VAT - plus some of the mysteries of local government accounts.
After this people kept coming after me to be treasurer of this, and treasurer of that, and when I became a Borough Councillor I found myself nominated to financial stuff all the time. I was a Borough Councillor for 12 years and have been a Town Councillor since 1989. I am currently vice-chair of the council and chair of the board of trustees of the Cotgrave Futures community building.
I have been a governor of Rushcliffe School, Dayncourt School, and am currently a governor of Ash Lea Special School.
